Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

stand up indeed. great food and staff is stellar. I have been coming here from its inception and its as good as always been. we had pizza salad gnocchi super yummy. they have great mid week specials with two for one on wednesdays and they support local charities as well.

Excellent pizza. Got the three meat pizza and the sausage was really tasty! Pasta was pretty boring though. The bread they bring after you sit down is great though. So in general the food was above average. Very cheap drink specials! Service was excellent. Quick, funny, and friendly.

Just ordered a lasagna to-go. It came with no red sauce, no tomato flavors beyond the lonely slice of tomato laid on top. Wtf, LPK. The first layer is an inch of cheese on the top, probably mozzarella. It's charred a little from the oven trip, which is good, but it's color makes me unsure if it's just Mozz, as the strong flavor hints at a mix with cheddar. There's hardly any ricotta cheese in the layers, the cheesy heart of a lasagna. Pulling apart the noodles, I see a tiny amount of ricotta, like a teaspoon, amount the mounds of ground beef with no fresh basil or other green seasonings of any kind. Where's the basil and parsley and mounds of delicious white mild cheese?! Because of this, the ground beef is quite over-powering, salty and fatty. If it weren't for the noodle, I'd think I was eating bad Mexican - beef and cheese. I only give it 3 stars because I've previously had their pizza, and thought it was really good. It was crispy and light and generous with toppings. But today, I chose wrong. I had a craving for pasta, but should've taken the extra block to Vincent's. For a place stating that they're more than just pizza, I'm not buying it. I've had better pasta at Sbarro's. Stick with the pizza at this place. The rest is just mall food.

Amazing! Best pizza I've ever had and that says a lot; considering we have a family of 5 that eats pizza quite often. No more commercial pizza chains for us! Excellent choice hubs! -update- I had to take a star away, going to get take out at night was less than par. Smdh! C'mon y'all I know you have the potential! *fingers crossed*

The pizza is just fine though mine was a little undercooked. Maybe because I was waiting on it as a walk-in to go order. I got a cheese with extra sauce on whole wheat. 1. Crust was good but needed to cook more to get more flavor from it and crunch of which there was none. 2. The sauce at LPK is mild, in the past there wasn't much on there so I asked for extra. Extra or not it didn't really change things much. 3. Wow too much cheese, it kinda just slipped right off. Maybe cause of the extra sauce. Regardless the cheese taste fresh and clean and seemed to be of a high quality. Pizza took about 10 min to cook and the service was just fine and pleasant. The thing that gets me about this place is they are so close to being a really good pizza but always fail and I have to settle for enjoyable instead of amazing.

I've been here twice now and both times I have completely enjoyed the experience. I've tried a personal pizza, a shrimp alfredo dish, and a chicken pasta with artichoke hearts-all delicious! On my first visit, I enjoyed a $3 mimosas special (that I definitely took advantage of)-yum! Both visits, the service has been quick and the servers are so friendly and personable. Definitely a favorite place for pizza and more!

Mercedes! What a great name, and very appropriate for my lovely server. She was the exact right amount of friendly, did not hover (which I LOVE), and was very prompt. There was only one other table taken when I came in, but quickly filled up. Other staff helped with all of the tables, and it seemed that no customers were left out. I ordered the four seasons pizza. Artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic and snow peas. I was a bit worried about the snow peas. I mean, they are awesome in salads, but on a pizza? I wasn't so sure, but I should not have been concerned, it gave a great flavor and a unique crunch. The pizza crust is thin, and a bit crispier than what I would like, but it was very good! I look forward to coming back!

I wish I had ordered Domino's (and I don't even like Domino's.) I ordered take out from Louisiana Pizza Kitchen and was told it would be twenty minutes. By the time they put my order together while I was waiting, it had been over an hour since I arrived to pick it up. I guess it was sitting out for a long time before they actually gave it to me, because when we opened the box, our pizza was cold. Really, cold. There was too much cheese and no sauce. I ordered the vegetarian pizza (I'm not a vegetarian) and looked forward to squash and zucchini and other yummy veggies listed on the menu. There were only a few thinly sliced squash and zucchini pieces, no mushrooms, and a few shreds of carrots. The crust was good, thin and crispy, but again, cold. The Cesar salad tasted good. Spicy and full of flavor. I ordered the large, but it was barely enough for myself and two girlfriends. I wouldn't order from here again and I won't be back.

It took forever to get greeted after we got seated and the service was incredibly slow, but the food overly made up for it! Incredible! My friend had the Alfredo pizza and I had the lamb wrap with pesto salad. The portions, price, and flavors were in perfect harmony. I wish we had more time to enjoy the atmosphere, but I'd recommend this place to anyone near Uptown.
(4)Rick N.
Great Greek Pizza today for lunch - nice large dining room - very clean - friendly staff - good location - fair amount of parking out front but plenty of street parking in that area. Service was efficient. Food was good. Interesting combinations of pizza available. Next time I'll try something else. Great spot for business lunch.
(4)Ben S.
The service has improved tremendously. Greeted and seated right away. Waitress was really friendly and attentive. Food is okay. On my last visit, I was really disappointed with the spinach artichoke dip (some chips were stale, dip was lukewarm and cold in some spots, more cheese than spinach and artichoke).

Went here as a "Plan C" bc the line for Camelia Grill was insane and so was the line for Cooter Brown's:( It was lunch and the menu was OK. I had the Calzone (very filling) and wife got a chicken salad which she was satisfied with. Overall, the place is a good backup restaurant that I would go to again but not if I could get into Camelia or Cooter's first.
(3)Liz T.
Loved my salad! It was dribbled with pecans and feta cheese and vinaigrette dressing. I had the chicken parmesan and my bf had the barbecue chicken pizza. The portions were big so we took it home and we ate that for dinner the next night. Great food for a great price!!!
(5)Kirk P.
I made the mistake of calling the French Quarter restaurant for take out. When I got to the Uptown one I asked for my take out for my chicken pizza. The staff just looked at me and said "no you didn't order that". She repeatedly said that I didn't order it, and said "you didn't order it from here". It was unnecessary. All she had to say was, I'm sorry you might have ordered it elsewhere but I can take your order now. She didn't have to be rude about it. Don't come here. Pizza isn't that great anyway.
(1)Elizabeth D.
Very cozy pizza parlor, definitely one of my favorite spots. Love the fact that they have more dishes than just pizza so everyone can get the item they want (in case you have a picky eater who doesn't want pizza that night). They do NOT do separate checks, so prepare in advance. Thankfully they have an ATM right outside! The smoked salmon pizza is the stuff of dreams!
(4)Meg A.
Lots of veggie options + reasonable prices = good night out with friends I used to love this place in college but I remember it being kinda expensive. Must have been by student budget because I went back last night and it was very well priced. I was also pleased to see tons of veggie options on the menu. My boyfriend and I got the bruschetta to start with and it was amazing! A little soggy but amazing! It is a good size for one to two people but no more. I got the primavera pasta and he got the Mediterranean pasta. He was not a fan of his because he said it was too plain. The veggies on mine were awesome but it needed more pesto to make it really good. For desert I got the Tiramasu and it was awesome! Overall I was happy with what we got and I loved that there were many things two vegetarians could choose from.

I want to start out by saying this is a great location for a low-key Saturday Date. If it's a great weather day, expect the windows and doors to be open just making the location to be a little more perfect. The staff was wonderful, friendly and accommodating. It was truly a perfect experience. We tried the Three Meat pizza that included Italian & Andouille sausages, pepperoni, marinara & mozzarella cheese. This wood-fire frilled pizza was fresh and truly tasty. Depending on how hungry you are this could be a pizza for one or two; due to the heavy application of toppings no one should really go hungry. As for the wine selection, I went with a chardonnay and it was decent enough. Parking. This location is closed to several other restaurants, expect to park on a side street or probably a block away as well.
(3)Nicholas M.
One of the worst food experiences ever. Honestly, it wasn't during the meal that was terrible. It was the after. I don't know exactly what caused me to feel sick, but that marguerita pizza or the bread pudding gave me a stomach ache like no other. I'd say that something is wrong with the location on south Carrollton. Possibly dirty? I will refer people to reginelli's or dominos before I ever refer this place.
(2)Regina H.
Every time I come home to visit this is a must stop. This is one of my top 3 pizza places to eat. My favorite is the smoked salmon. It is like eating a bagel on a pizza.
(5)Renate N.
Super friendly and helpful server. Delicious andouille sausage sampler on a pile of deliciously sweet sautéed onions and a mustard sauce that was also good on our shrimp pizza. Tip: if you are heat-averse, leave the jalapeños on, and remove them after its served to get their flavor without the heat. Pizza had a nicely browned, (not burned) thin crust with a generous helping of cheese. Pleasant casual atmosphere. Plenty of parking. Can't think of anything I would improve upon. here.
(5)Jess S.
UNCOOKED -UNSAFE- UNACCEPTABLE My boyfriend and I decided to eat here last night. We both ordered pasta with a fried chicken breast dish- chicken parmesan and chicken scallopini. He had two breasts and I had one. He is a fast eater so he ate the first one within 5 minutes. He cut open the second one and it was RAW!!!! By this time I was half way through mine and I looked down and mine was not fully cooked as well. I was furious. This is absolutely a health hazard, and for the chef to NEGLECT TO CHECK IF OUR FOOD WAS COOKED IS ABSOLUTELY UNSAFE! DO NOT EAT HERE!
(1)Shawn C.
One of my favorite pizza places. Fantastic pizza and wonderful polite staff. Ceasar salad is delicious too.
(4)Linda T.
This review is only for their pizzas. My friend ordered us some pizza's from here to go, we loved that they offered wheat crust and so many different types of pizza's to choose from and best of all personal size. I could easily split one pizza into two meals. I could only finish 1/2 my pizza even though they were personal size. I chose the spinach, feta cheese and roasted tomoto pizza and had chicken added to it. My other half chose their version of a Mexican pizza which had black bean base, jalepeno's, cheese, sour cream, chicken, both pizza's were actually really good and hit the spot! I will def. come here if I'm in the area. Great pizza, good prices most all $10 and under and so many different combos to choose from.
(5)Jim F.
A friend of mine recommended this place, as I love pizza and trying new places. This was a home run in my opinion. I was told to try the Thunderbird, and it lives up to its name. Fantastic. I loved the deep dish. It's hard to find a place that does a decent one. I can't wait to try other pizzas at this place. I will definitely be back.
(5)Tamara M.
The Louisiana Pizza Kitchen offers some unique combinations. Some of these are Creole-inspired, like the fried oyster pizza or crawfish etouffe. Ingredients on our pizza were fresh and tasty: roasted garlic (lots of it, which we love, and enough to scare off any vampires) with baby spinach, feta and sundried tomatoes. Most of all, service was super friendly. For a busy spot near the French Market, they were able to balance things well enough to provide a good experience for all. Prices were fair for this touristy area and quality of the food. We'd had take-out from here a year or so ago, and it was good as well.
(3)Sherry A.
The food here was well prepared with fresh herbs, basil and mozzerella, and the service was excellent. If you are expecting some heavy greasy pizza it's not here!
(4)Andrea S.
Spinach canneloni, lasagne, and kitchen sink were very good. Staff was very nice and on top of things
(4)Michelle B.
Ok, I took off a star because this is not my go to pizza joint (that would be Slice on Magazine street)-It's good but not a destination restaurant for me. In fact, I don't normally pick this place to eat but rather friends pick it. I used to come more frequently back when I lived in the Riverbend and they had Wednesday nights that benefitted charity (do they still do that?). Anywho, off topic. One time I came and my friends ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and the chicken pesto pizza and both of them enjoyed it. Meanwhile I ordered the special-butter it squash ravioli with shrimp and red bell peppers and it was sublime! The most recent time I came my friend and I ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer which was good. But the bruschetta stole the show, it was huge with two big pieces of bread and covered with yumminess! My friend was craving pasta and ordered the shrimp, mushroom and spinach pasta which tasted rich and tasty to me (yes I tried it, you can't be my friend unless you let me try your food and vice versa!). Meanwhile I ordered the special- shrimp and andouille sausage Mac and cheese pasta! OMFG it was so good I was picking at it cold from the fridge when I would get home. Yeah, it was that good. Why does it have to be a special? I never would have thought of Louisiana Pizza Kitchen as a yummy pasta joint but I stand corrected. Oh, I forgot to mention another time I came my friend loved her lasagna here. Happy eating y'al!
(4)Ryan P.
I'm surprised at some of the low ratings because I freakin' love this place. The staff is very attentive and nice. The pizza is excellent as well. The neighborhood is really cool and eclectic and every time I visit my sister I come here. Tonight, my sister and I split a small spinach salad and a 4 cheese pizza (I love ricotta cheese on pizza!). They give you complimentary sun dried tomato bread, which is very good too.
(5)Bonni T.
Maybe they didn't card me for my rum punch because it was rumless? At least that's my story... The fried ravioli appetizer was awesome. I loved the chili garlic mayo!!! I had a chicken breast stuffed with shrimp and andouille... Yeah, I should have just ordered more ravioli! It was bland and disappointing. Service was fair.
(3)Cork C.
Yeah, I like garlic too. No seriously, I really like their garlic laden food. Oh! ...and the cheese is incredibly fresh and delicious.
(4)Karen C.
I went here to have dinner with a couple of friends. I ordered a spinach salad and split the eggplant parmesan like pizza with friend. It was ok but it's no Slice.
(3)Danon H.
This is one of the strangest Pizza places I have ever been to, It was also one of the very worst.(Edit) I recently had a rude customer service follow up so I decided to edit my review but I'll get to that later. I went here last night because I was in the area. When I went in the first thing I noticed was that the service was not that great. The waitress I had wasn't all that friendly with me. At least she did show some effort with her fake smile. But I could tell she didn't act like she wanted to be there. Through the entire dining experience she kept acting like she was trying to rush me out the door. Then I had a employee of that business send me a really rude message via yelp. So yes this place positively wreaks of bad customer service. Upon looking at the menu I noticed that they had a large variety of food. Strange things like duck pizza and escargot pasta. I decided to try the Rosemary Chicken Tortellini, I hate to say it but I was pretty disappointed. The dish was totally bland and flavorless. In my opinion it was barely even edible, if I didn't believe in not wasting food I would have thrown it in the garbage! For dessert I ordered some bread pudding. It was nothing to brag about, you can get better bread pudding at Rouses grocery store. They think of themselves as gourmet, but I think their food is garbage! I honestly feel that this place caters more towards tourists. I guess mainly because it is so close to the street car line and the locals are too afraid to go here because it has a terrible reputation. They have local art for sale in there, So I guess this place is good for the art community(and its only saving grace). In short this is a bad place for tourists and locals alike. There are way better places in town! For instance check out Midway Pizza, Ancora, Wits Inn, Pizza Delicious, Pizza hut and several others.
(1)Shannon S.
This is my favorite location of this local chain and offers wood fired pizza, pasta, wraps and salads along with some other specials. The food is generally affordable and the food isn't great but its consistently good for the most part. Unfortunately for this establishment there are so many other fantastic restaurants in this area that I very rarely ever eat here. They have a Chase ATM that I often make use of when in this area.
(3)Jay S.
So here's the thing - I went here because people (both on yelp and locals during conversation) recommended the place for their excellent bread pudding. I love bread pupping, so while in NOLA, I wanted some great bread pudding. This places bread pudding is not good - I've had wayyyyy better. The espresso is decent and the staff is friendly enough.
(3)Tiza M.
Ordered the mushroom ravioli as an appetizer, pretty good. Entree was the chicken masala, probably the worst I've ever had. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
(2)Sam 'Wags' W.
Really friendly staff matches a fantastic, varied, and regional menu. Simon's art work bespectacles the walls
(4)Michael P.
Always a good place. They have so much more than pizza and a great 2 for 1 drink special on Wednesdays. Very friendly and welcoming place with tasty food. If you do get a pizza, the Margarita is really good and their crust is the best! It's nice, thin, and flaky.
(5)April P.
Pretty awful from start to finish. The hostess was friendly enough but then after she sat us she told us about the drink specials followed by "of course, only if you are old enough and show proper ID that is NOT expired" in the most condescending tone... Do not offer drinks to people and then imply that they are not even of age... When our waitress came up to us, she did not even smile. We ordered the Rosemary Marinated Chicken Breast pasta to share. When the food runner came, we had to ask for another plate so we could split the pasta. Not too big of a deal I guess, but still... The food was awful... I would not be surprised if they used sauce straight from a Chef Boyardee can. Then, the one waitress and hostess seemed to be very friendly with all the customers and were acting extremely inappropriate (chatting, hugging, kissing, flirting, screaming, etc) while we tried to get their attention for our check. Overall awful experience. Poor service, awful food. Never again.

I love me some pizza (who doesn't?!) and have been wondering about Louisiana Pizza Kitchen for a while. I finally took the plunge and tried it out the other day. Walked in and the first thing that hit me was that the interior/feel of the place was nothing like I was expecting. First of all, it's pretty big. Way bigger than I was expecting. And, the walls were covered with heinously overpriced local (amateur) artwork. I'm normally not one to publicly judge art because it is subjective, and hey, no one has my art hanging up anywhere for sale. But yeah, Hello Kitty pole dancing with unicorns all around her is, well, I'll post a picture, you can decide for yourself. Did I mention that is was priced at $850? Of course, the art on the walls has nothing to do with the food or service, but it does have an impact on the ambience, which is an important factor to me. But, on to the nitty gritty... We're seated quickly (it's the middle of the afternoon, a little late for lunch and a little early for dinner, so it was pretty empty) and handed menus. I was immediately overwhelmed because the menu is HUGE. I mean, I like choices as much as the next girl, but it was a little bit much. In went in planning to have pizza, but the lasagna was calling to me, so lasagna it was. My companion ordered the quattro formaggi pizza, add shrimp. Our waitress was very friendly and kept our drinks full. The food came out swiftly. It had all the trappings of a fine meal. The food was, well, okay. The lasagna had an abundance of cheese and the perfect sauce to noodle ratio. I was ooo-ing and ahh-ing over the first couple of bites before it hit me that it tasted kinda weird. It wasn't bad, I definitely ate my fill. But something was there that didn't 100% please my taste buds. I don't know what it was, the only way I know how to describe it is to say that it's like a musty undertone that I couldn't quite put my finger on. The pizza was better. Described by my companion as an "explosion of cheese" in his mouth. Well hell, yeah. If left to eat just one kind of food for the rest of my life, cheese would be that food. So gimme an explosion of cheese in my mouth any day. But we both couldn't get past the tiny, popcorn-size shrimp sprinkled on top, which was pretty disappointing. It's New Orleans, shouldn't it be mandated that all restaurants serve nothing but fresh, juicy Gulf shrimp? LPK did not get that memo. The shrimp were fine, but in the land of best shrimp on earth, fine doesn't cut it in my book. So, here I sit, teetering on the line between 2 stars and 3 stars for Louisiana Pizza Kitchen. So, I'm going to be nice and go for 3. Because, per the Yelp definition of 3 stars, it was okay. The service was good. The prices were fair. They have a parking lot, always an bonus. But, that being said, I seriously doubt I'll go ever go back. I'd much rather go to Midway or Theo's and have some GOOD pizza instead of just okay pizza. Side note: I couldn't help but overhear the guy at the table next to us order a margarita with "extra, extra, extra" salt... and then abruptly send it back for a beer because he was "from New Mexico and takes his margaritas very seriously." Uh, dude, you're in New Orleans. At a pizza/Italian joint. With only one type of tequila (per the waitress.) What did you expect? So, anyway, you may want to steer clear of margaritas. Ha.
(3)Brian S.
Hadn't been here in a while and had forgotten how good it is. Had the Dijion Chicken Wrap--simply the best pita wrap I've ever had. All the ingredients were SO fresh! And the pita, instead of the usual cardboard-y wrap, was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The secret? It's made from the same dough as they use to make their pizza crust. Brilliant! The pesto pasta salad that came with it was also yummy and almost a meal unto itself. I also ordered the Pasta Marinara over angel hair pasta w/meatballs. There were lotsa meatballs and the dish left me with a smile on my face--it tasted like the way my Mom makes spaghetti and meatballs only better. I didn't expect to eat all of the generous portion but I cleaned my plate. And, no I'm not a pig (nor was I starving) but I went on their weekly "Dining with a Purpose" Tuesday so I was eating for a worthy cause, and half of the pita wrap and pesto salad made for a perfect dinner that evening. Btw, both of these dishes were very reasonably priced at $9.95. If you're looking for tasty casual dining, this is the place. I'll be back soon! Came back a week later and had the Caesar salad (very good) and the Roasted Duck Pizza--out of this world! I love duck and there was a generous amount on the pizza. The grapes and grape demiglaze on it was a brilliant touch, the sweetness of the grapes beautifully contrasting with the savoriness of everything else. One of the best pizzas I've ever had!
(4)Colin A.
The pizza is good, nothing too special.
(2)Roger E.
Went there for Fathers Day and got there early before the crowd. The only negative is the parking. Had to park next door at the bank but they were closed so it wasn't a problem. As for the food. GREAT. I had the cheese pizza that was one of the best I ever had. We have been to Italy and this was in competition. Others in our group and pasta and other type dishes and everyone was happy, happy, happy. The service was great. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because I am very stingy with my stars. I willm make up for it by going back
(4)Todd S.
With wood-fired pizza, its hard to go wrong. Despite that beginning, this post won't be long. Parking can be challenging, the lot is quite small. but you are in Uptown, not stuck in a mall. Beverages come plenty, Iced teas and some Coke. A full bar for service, but the price will make you choke. The menu is large, Not just wood-fired Pie. Salads, wraps and pasta, but the Pizza - oh my. The thin crust is crisp, not soggy or limp. My favorite Roasted Lamp, but I do love the Shrimp. The options are varied; Your crust can be wheat. Choose a standard selection, or make one complete. The pies are Italian, Quattro Formaggi and Margherita. If Pie isn't your thing, They have wraps made of Pita. The Greek and the Garlic, you cannot go wrong. I've tried quite a few, 4 stars, they belong.
(4)Jenny J.
Not impressed at all. The food was very bland. The calamari was hard and greasy, the marinara sauce, had no flavor. Same thing with the Alfredo sauce my pizza was under cooked and also lacked flavor. The only thing that we did like was the bread pudding, other then that... we will not be coming back. : /
(3)Gabe R.
Last time I wrote my review of this place, I kept thinking I may have overrated them. I had the expectations walking in that I would probably drop them down a star but everything about the place and my experince made me keep them at the 4 star level. Their pizzas are all 9 inch personal pizzas and have a variety of different kinds. This last time I had the garlic, spinach and sun dried tomatoes. It was quite tasty except that there were like 6 garlic cloves on top. A tad too much. My kids got their usuals and they really like coming here so that's good enough for me. Oh and finally the fake Hello Kitty paintings on the walls are kick ass! In one Hello Kitty is a stripper on a pole with little unicorns all around. In another Hello Kitty is green and praying to the porcelain gods while yacking her brains out. Those alone are worthy of the 4th star. Oh and You can purchase these for the low low price of 800.00!

I hope to update this review with a more positive one later as these guys are located in my hood, and I love Pizza and Pasta- but my first experience here leaves me underwhelmed by the food. The location is great, the service was excellent and the menu choices were plentiful. The ambiance was also lovely with nice decor and low lighting, and the prices were good as well. But the food....sigh. We started with the Garlic Bread, which was made with a pita type bread and served with red sauce on the side. This was decent and fairly garlicky, with fresh garlic. I followed this with Shrimp Scampi. The portion size was large, but the shrimp was tiny and tasted like it had been frozen, very lacking in flavor. The sauce also had no flavor at all and I had to keep dumping on the grated cheese for a little flavor. I like scampi because I love Garlic, but in this dish they appear to have forgotten the garlic altogether. It was meh. My partner had the classic Lasagna. He didn't like it. He said the meat was grissly and hard and the dish overall had no flavor. At some point we may try them again as they are walking distance, but based on this first experience I don't think this place will make it on to our regular list.

My brother loves going to this place when he visits here. I had forgotten about it. It was his first choice for dinner after I picked him up from the airport! It's a cozy little location at the Riverbend. They have a variety of funky artwork inside. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We split the Quattro Formaggi Pizza and a spinach salad. It was plenty of food for the both of us. (They also give you complimentary sun dried tomato rolls.) The pizza was awesome. It tasted like a combination of lasagna and pizza. I would have to say this is my current favorite pizza in the city. I look forward to going back soon!

I've only been to LPK with a group of people on several different occasions and have always been very pleased. The service/staff have always been outstanding, so friendly and fun! The waitstaff and hostess come to check on the table often without being intrusive. Nobody in my group of 8-12 people has ever had a problem with their order. The food quality always exceeds my expectations for the price. So here it is in a nutshell: the staff, service, food and price can't be beat!

Definitely one of my pizza places (I was recently informed that each location is individually owned!). I really love BBQ chicken pizza, and usually I hate thin crust, but they do it just right here. All the pizzas are thin crust and personal-sized. Don't plan to split a pizza. For us, they aren't big enough to split and not small enough to finish! We do love the left overs, though! Good for kids, good for groups, good for pizzas and soups! Also, surprisingly good place to watch the game. Not a lot of people are here for games, but they have drinks and TVs and it's not really loud here!
(4)Eileen Z.
I agree with Briana. I haven't reviewed this place before but I too have always wondered why people have so much love for it. It's ok, not great, hence the 3 stars. I usually get their greek pizza when I have gone. I have been here on more than one occasion and again it never "wowed" me. If you are looking for pizza and a family environment this is your place but for me I would rather have Slice. it's less money and I feel the pizza is much better. The service has never been good here every time I have gone, it's as if you are putting the waitresses "out" by having them wait on you. Getting a refill here is going to be a rare thing and other than sitting you down, immediately taking your order and handing you your first beverage, dont expect much..

I came in here during lunch with a friend. We both ordered the garlic bread for our appetizer and i had the Mediterranean pasta and my friend ordered the chicken wrap. I must say the prices are decent for the good amount of portions they give you. I love garlic bread, especially theirs, theirs was a flatbread type garlic bread which i like because it's less greasy than other garlic bread. They have a large selection of different types of food other than pizza, such as wraps, pastas, calzones. The Mediterranean pasta was very good, I will go back and try their pizzas.
(3)Kyle B.
What a pleasant surprise it was to find this place. Our table had a mix of pasta, pizzas, and salads and everyone was happy with their meal. My pizza was a simple pepperoni and it was really, really good. Lots of flavor and the wood fire oven makes all the difference.
(4)Haley S.
I admit it. I was the table that servers hate to see coming. I have been in the service industry, in all aspects for all of my working life. And if I woulda been my table I doubt I would have been nearly as patient. Cranky toddler, frazzled mom of said cranky toddler, and frazzled moms friend in tow. I don't always roll in LPK like that. My disclaimer is I have been coming here for years and have always had good/great service and always enjoyed my meals. I would easily, anyway, give them 4 stars. But, after my last trip our server earned that coveted 5 stars. I really am not the kind of person that brings a disgruntled child to a restaurant on a normal basis, but it was unavoidable. I'm not going to go into all the dramatic details, but that sweet waitress didn't roll her eyes, run away, or flinch at any of the shenanigans that my kid inflicted on us all. I always enjoy my food here. It is consistently good. Pizzas are tasty, they offer whole wheat or white crust. It's thin and crispy, as they have a wood burning stove. I tried something new last time. The goat cheese chicken pasta. It was almost like a chicken picatta, but with goat cheese and artichokes rather than Parm and capers. My friend had the Spaghetti and meatballs. It was delish, huge, with a ton of big meatballs. Both great comfort foods, and perfect choices for a cold, nasty day. The decor is cute and New Orleanisy with lots if local artist on display. They have a full bar (thank you Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfrey!). I also really enjoy the French Quarter location as well. The atmosphere is better there IMO, but this location I think is more family friendly. My only real complaint is that this LPK doesn't do the Parmesan beignets with the Spinich and artichoke melt, like the FQ location. They give you crappy bagged tortilla chips.
(5)Dr W.
the prices here were cheaper than the French quarter location. pizza was not as good. I like that fried pickles were an option on this menu though. the shrimp pizza was meh.
(3)Erin V.
This pizza is to die for! I love the artichoke pizza and any one of their really yummy salads. ALSO one of the BEST bread pudding in New Orleans is here! This is a must have! The service is really great, atmosphere is nothing to write home about but the pizza is realy really good with the best crust I have had. I get this a lot as a take out with artichoke pizza and bread pudding- my guilty pleasure....yummm
(4)Jen L.
La. Pizza kitchen offers solid pizzas and pastas. They are not super expensive and they are usually tasty. Just nothing too spectacular about the food or the atmosphere. A good solid choice when you have a group and need to accommodate multiple issues (food allergies, vegetarian, meat-atarian, etc.)
(3)Jessica M.
This place is wayyyyyyyyy overpriced. The service was horrible. The food wasn't horrible, but it also isn't something to brag to your mom about either. I have no idea why anyone would want to give it five stars and that's the truth. There are much better places in New Orleans, I think you should try someplace else.
(1)Ruth V.
LPK is a trip. The staff are all very good at what they do and obviously all like each other, which comes across in how they work and interact with their tables. PROS: - 2 for 1 drink specials every Wednesday - Awesome pizza dough - Great for groups - Delicious ice tea, which seems like a no-brainer but is actually harder than it seems. - On the streetcar line - Super friendly, knowledgeable staff, Ivy and Mercedes especially! A PRO yet A CON: - Drew Brees eats here which is a plus but also not a plus if you just want to enjoy your food without the over zealous circus of Saints fans craning their neck for a peek at #9 smacking on BBQ pizza -- with no cheese, he's lactose intolerant... CONS: - The decor is kind of mee-maw with ceiling tiles that seem to have been hurriedly painted and bulging in the center like at any moment they are going to collapse and spill water all over the place... - A random stuffed tiger above a cabinet that looks saturated in grease due to sitting in the restaurant for too long.

I'll be back!!

First the good: their salads are delicious. If you order those, you'll be happy. The only reason this is getting two stars at all is due to the fact that I can order a decent salad here. The bad: the Italian classics on their menu are so poorly executed, they shouldn't be served in any restaurant. The primavera tastes bland, the pesto is thin and doesn't taste at all like pesto, and their marinara in anything is like tomato sauce from a can. Take the alfredo dish as an example. We used to go here a lot - two years ago I would order plain alfredo pasta here and it was great every time. Creamy sauce with al dente pasta that was seasoned right with parmesan, nutmeg and black pepper. Great. I don't know if they changed chefs since then, but the last 5 times we've gone and I've ordered the dish, it's been heinously inedible. It's like they take half and half [rather than heavy whipping cream] and thicken it with flour, throw some dried out parmesan on top, and toss it with some overcooked pasta that is mushy and awful. And whatever smattering of black pepper and nutmeg is put in the dish tastes like the pre-ground bulk stuff you get in a plastic jug rather than what it should be which is freshly ground on the spot. Also, the tomato basil soup is watery. The wild mushroom ravioli is fried too long so it's very greasy. We've gone back a lot because we used to really like the food. But I don't think we'll return anymore. Five failed visits is enough. Please bring back whoever used to make sure good italian food was served in this italian restaurant.
(2)Darren D.
Always an enjoyable experience. The staff is courteous and accommodating. The food is never disappointing.
(5)Elaine M.
I have never sent anything back to the kitchen before I went to this restaurant. That all changed when I decided to order some special they had with crab in it. I don't remember what it was exactly but when it arrived, even the server looked a little unsure. It was a chafing dish filled with baked bread crumbs and what tasted like dead sewer fish (if such a thing exists) and this fact was hidden by a truly ridiculous amount of cheese. Ok, I can agree with whomever asks why I wouldn't just order the pizza in Louisiana Pizza Kitchen but there is a reason for this as well. I have a favorite pizza, it's available to me @ Sugar Park, and it is so incredible that I am absolutely positive that none could compare. Therefore, when that nasty fish flavored thing arrived, the server didn't even need to bother asking why I wanted to send it back and change my order. It was that bad. So as a last ditch effort, I ordered a basic pizza as backup and was none too thrilled about it. I once had to take a toddler I babysit there because we had gotten locked out of the house by a painter. He needed to eat after school and it was the cheapest place in walking distance. We split a spaghetti and meatballs which was much more pasta than anything else. The sauce also tasted like the can it probably came from. The bartender must've been feeling the need to show off his gay prowess as he kept cranking up Madonna and turning down the lights until it was almost dark. Then he proceeded to flirt with some of the staff, sparing no flaming expletives or anatomical descriptions. Normally I wouldn't mind as this is New Orleans after all, let your freak flag fly! But don't boast a "family atmosphere" if this how your staff acts around small children with impeccably keen hearing. Now that I am no longer working uptown I am thankful that I won't accidentally need to end up here again.
(1)Kimmie R.
Gotta love my LPK! Go on a Wednesday, and you'll get 2 for 1 drinks all night, fantastic food, and the best service in town. From the greatest hostess in the world to the delightful owner, everyone there strives to make you feel welcome, and to make sure you have a great time. I usually get pizza, but everything else is great, too. Check out the specials, and get the spinach-artichoke melt as an appetizer. Don't forget desserts made by the city's best, Ms. Cathy. Go, go, go...you'll thank me! P.S. Wednesday is "family" night, if you get my drift...but everyone is welcome!!
(5)Briana J.
I seemed to have missed something... For how busy the place was and all the great reviews, this place definitely seems like a favorite for many. It was just an okay dinner for me though. I split two pizzas (pepperoni and roasted garlic with sundried tomatoes) with the boyfriend. Those aren't the most exciting pizzas ever, but for me to not be completely satisfied with them is sayin' something. I'd go to Reginelli's, Slice, and Theo's before LPK for a staple pepp pizza any day. It wasn't bad but definitely not great either. The roasted garlic sure was a pretty pizza though. And the pepp had about half an inch of gooey, yummy cheese. The crust reminded me of pita bread. This location is definitely more family oriented and less interesting than the French Quarter location. I do enjoy this little corner of restaurants where S. Carrollton meets St. Charles though. I was there on a Friday night, it for sure was busy but we were seated pretty quickly. Service was friendly and I checked out all the art by Simon on the walls from my seat while I waited. Maybe if I got one of their speciality pizzas like the "Kitchen Sink" I would have been more impressed, but we kept it simple and LPK failed to fully deliver a pizza punch.
(3)Tamia G.
Fabulous! Went with my buddy Lou, who's a local, and I thoroughly enjoyed my first-ever experience of "Family" night at LPK. Who knew that Wednesdays could be so festive! The drinks were all BOGO and the wood-fired "Kitchen Sink" pizza...richly layered with flavors and textures! The staff was great too. A definite fave on my list...especially on Wednesdays!!
(5)Vicky L.
More food to go... I got the lamb wrap with pasta salad and the bread pudding with rum sauce. The wrap was more lettuce than lamb. I would have liked a little bit more lamb with it. The pasta salad was average. The bread pudding is what gives this place 4 stars. So good! although they say it will taste like a lot of rum, it's not true. You will taste it, but it's the perfect amount. if i had toast, I would have dipped that in the extra sauce. My friend got a barbecue chicken pizza from there. That was really good! I will definitely get that next time.
(4)Bryan S.
Good for the Quatro Pizzia and the rosemary chicken pizza. The vibe of the place is 1/2 tourist destination 1/2 neighbood pizza joint, they somehow kind of sort of work in a nice and stress free dining room.
(4)Jeremy M.
My girlfriend and I were driving around running errands and decided to check this place out for lunch. While walking in the door, you are greeted by the aroma coming from the wood burning oven!! That got me excited on its own. The menu was OK, but I felt like it was a pizza place that just added other things to the menu so that it was not solely a pizza place. With that being said, the BBQ chicken pizza and Margarita pizza that we ordered were really good.
(3)Lauren R.
My boyfriend and I haphazardly decided to eat lunch here, mainly because it was close to his house and neither of us were really craving anything. Restaurant choices are usually up to me since I'm the vegetarian and pizza is always a welcomed compromise for us both. He got the BBQ Chicken Pizza (chicken, corn, scallions & mozzarella cheese) and I had the always classic Margarita Pizza (roma tomatoes, fresh basil & mozzarella cheese). Both pizzas are priced under $9 for a 10" personal pie that was definitely enough for 2 meals. The smell of a real wood-burning oven will ignite your senses the minute you walk in. The staff was friendly and I loved all the artwork on the walls. The whimsy of this place is unlike any other place I've been. Once I've tried all the other places on my list of must-eat-ats in New Orleans, I'll venture here again.
(4)Mardi C.
stand up indeed. great food and staff is stellar. I have been coming here from its inception and its as good as always been. we had pizza salad gnocchi super yummy. they have great mid week specials with two for one on wednesdays and they support local charities as well.
(4)Patrick B.
Excellent pizza. Got the three meat pizza and the sausage was really tasty! Pasta was pretty boring though. The bread they bring after you sit down is great though. So in general the food was above average. Very cheap drink specials! Service was excellent. Quick, funny, and friendly.
(4)Jessica B.
(3)I W.
(4)Jess S.

(4)Sarah P.
(5)Andrea F.

(2)Elizabeth D.
(4)Shercole K.
Can't think of anything I would improve upon. here.
(4)Dana P.
(5)Todd S.
(3)Jim F.
(5)Danon H.

Always a good place. They have so much more than pizza and a great 2 for 1 drink special on Wednesdays. Very friendly and welcoming place with tasty food. If you do get a pizza, the Margarita is really good and their crust is the best! It's nice, thin, and flaky.

Ha.

The pizza is good, nothing too special.

(3)Mardi C.
stand up indeed. great food and staff is stellar.

(3)I W.
(4)Jeffrey D.

(5)Andrea F.

(2)Elizabeth D.
(4)Shercole K.
Can't think of anything I would improve upon. here.
(4)Jess S.

Ha.

The pizza is good, nothing too special.

(3)Meg A.
(4)Elizabeth C.
(4)Shannon S.
(4)Jilly B.
(5)Ruth V.

(3)Kimmie R.
(5)Jeremy M.
(3)Vinny The Vacuum S.
(5)Katy G.
(5)Jen L.
(3)Briana J.
(4)Michael B.
I'll be back!!
(4)Bryan S.
Good for the Quatro Pizzia and the rosemary chicken pizza. The vibe of the place is 1/2 tourist destination 1/2 neighbood pizza joint, they somehow kind of sort of work in a nice and stress free dining room.
(4)Kyle B.
What a pleasant surprise it was to find this place. Our table had a mix of pasta, pizzas, and salads and everyone was happy with their meal. My pizza was a simple pepperoni and it was really, really good. Lots of flavor and the wood fire oven makes all the difference.
(4)Lauren R.
(4)Haley S.
(4)Jessica M.
This place is wayyyyyyyyy overpriced. The service was horrible. The food wasn't horrible, but it also isn't something to brag to your mom about either. I have no idea why anyone would want to give it five stars and that's the truth. There are much better places in New Orleans, I think you should try someplace else.
(1)Kirk P.
(1)Amanda L.

Yeah, I like garlic too. No seriously, I really like their garlic laden food. Oh! ...and the cheese is incredibly fresh and delicious.

I went here to have dinner with a couple of friends. I ordered a spinach salad and split the eggplant parmesan like pizza with friend. It was ok but it's no Slice.

This place is wayyyyyyyyy overpriced. The service was horrible. The food wasn't horrible, but it also isn't something to brag to your mom about either. I have no idea why anyone would want to give it five stars and that's the truth. There are much better places in New Orleans, I think you should try someplace else.

Loved my salad! It was dribbled with pecans and feta cheese and vinaigrette dressing. I had the chicken parmesan and my bf had the barbecue chicken pizza. The portions were big so we took it home and we ate that for dinner the next night. Great food for a great price!!!
